Are you selling?

Fri., Aug. 13, 2010 (1:18pm)I made my first Gallerish sale! It was by someone who is all the way across the country in NYC! I have sold paintings that I had listed on gallerish, but they were not found through the website. I have received lots of great responses through Gallerish. This time, I was contacted by a person through the website, and we emailed back and forth, he paid through paypal, SOLD! Success! He never would have found me except for gallerish.com so thank you Eric! All your efforts are so much appreciated! Tj.

Tue., May. 11, 2010 (7:39pm)I have to agree that nothing much is happening. On the other hand, it is a free venue for us so thanks Eric for your effort and time. I appreciate what you are trying to do.

Tue., Mar. 02, 2010 (3:45am)Also, customers or art lovers can use our online email form to email artists. Although most emails are inquiring about purchasing artworks, sometimes they are inquiring about showcasing artworks in an art show or some other places. Thus, you can benefit not just through sales, but also through other opportunities and connections to art lovers.

Tue., Mar. 02, 2010 (3:45am)In terms of traffic, you can click on the "Analyze" buttons on your "My Inventory" page to see how many visitors viewed each of your artworks. For example, here is an analysis of one of my paintings: http://www.gallerish.com/analyze-artwork.php?ArtworkID=72. As you can see, there is about a visitor every few days on average.
In terms of sales, it is hard to quantify because unlike most other art sites, artists are welcome to show and link to their own websites from their Gallerish profile. Thus, customers can go directly to the artists' own websites to contact the artists directly. However, I can speak from my own experience as an artist myself that I've sold on Gallerish. Mind you my more expensive ones have not been sold yet (such as the one I showed above), but I am not really interested in selling them right away anyway as I love to keep them hanging on my wall at home.

Mon., Mar. 01, 2010 (11:13pm)I was wondering the same thing...
I use ArtId.com because it's very professional looking (and free)...I just found FineArtAmerica.com, also free, and is very professional, has lots of extras for artists and I've already been contacted by a customer...seems like a good site.

Mon., Mar. 01, 2010 (4:22pm)i've been on here almost a year, haven't sold anything yet. from the feedback i've been getting from other sites, and from professional photographers, my prices aren't out of line, so i can only conclude that not many people visit this site, and/or those that do are not interested in buying photography.

Sun., Feb. 28, 2010 (3:08pm)I'm new here and haven't even uploaded my art yet but I was curious. Is anyone here actually selling and how often? Like I said just starting here but I wanted to get a feel for what is possible with this site.
